Biography

Wang Baoxi, a renowned expert, Professor of Dermatology, doctoral supervisor, and expert receiving special government allowances. After graduating from Peking Union Medical College with a postgraduate degree in 1987, he stayed to work in the Department of Dermatology, Peking Union Medical College Hospital. In 1999, he served as Director of the Department of Dermatology, Peking Union Medical College Hospital; in 2007, he served as Director of the Hospital for Skin Diseases (Institute of Dermatology), Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. In 2015, he served as Secretary of the Party Committee of the Plastic Surgery Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. He has long been engaged in clinical, teaching, and research work in dermatology and has trained a group of professionals. He has published more than 200 papers in domestic and international journals (including Science, JID, BJD, etc.). He led and completed the project of high-purity podophyllotoxin (Youtuoxin) extracted from Chinese herbal medicine for the treatment of genital warts, transferred it for production, and it was included in relevant Chinese textbooks and clinical guidelines. He has obtained two national “Class II New Drug” certificates, the Second Prize for Scientific Research of the Ministry of Education, the First Prize for Natural Science of the Ministry of Education, and the Second Prize of the National Natural Science Award. He has led multiple projects, including Major Special Projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Public Welfare Industry Research Fund of the Ministry of Health, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Academic appointments include Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Dermatology, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Chinese Journal of Dermatology, and Editorial Board Member of Chinese Medical Journal, J Invest Dermatol, and others; former President of the Dermatologist Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, Vice President of the Chinese Association of STD and AIDS Prevention and Control, First President of the Skin Beauty Branch of the Chinese Association of Plastic and Aesthetic, Vice Chairman of the Dermatology and Venereology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, Chairman of the Dermatology Professional Committee of the Beijing Medical Doctor Association, etc. He has received “Outstanding Individual of the Ministry of Health”, “Young and Middle-aged Expert with Outstanding Contributions of the Ministry of Health”, and other honors.
